Great Excursion Ultra professional guide / driver / whole tour. I highly recommend them for seeing the northern lights.

Came looking for grandparents, found a great adventure! I contacted Kjetil some months ahead of my trip to Tromso. My mother survived cancer twice; we had been talking for years about going to Tromso to see the place her grandmother was born (Dafjord). It looked pretty far from Tromso, so I decided to look for a tour. Kjetil picked us up from our vacation rental and took us on an adventure! I had sent him a link to a genealogy site that had information about my mother's family. He took this information and not only found a family home still standing but narrowed down the family place to 2 possibilities! When we arrived he spoke with the people who live there now and they had a picture of the village as it looked in the early 20th century! Kjetil answered all our questions about the local area, past and present. He was very knowledgeable. He was so kind to us that my mother told family stories I had never heard before (such as that my 2nd great grandfather had died while fishing on the North Sea). He provided a lunch and hot drink for us and he was kind and helpful. Ours was a very different experience from most of the other people but I highly recommend him.

nice driving tour and great Snow Mobile FUN! we made arrangements to be taken for a drive thru the area and fjords around the islands. We had a great English speaking guide and comfortable vehicle. they arranged for us to take a private boat ride thru the fjord back to Tromso. We also went out on snow mobiles with them. They are one of the few companies that takes you 2 hours drive over to Finland where you can snow mobile more FREELY...we went over the frozen lakes and thru the woods the the point where the 3 countries meet and had tea and cookies before heading back to the base...Arctic Drive arranged it all with hotel pick up and drop off. All went as planned

Great Tour My family and I flew to Tromsø very spontaneously. Although we were very keen to see the northern lights, we wouldn’t have been able to book a long tour with a big group of people because of our tow children. Kjetil was very understanding, even the fact that we were not able to book a tour with him in advance didn’t put him off. In the end he offered us a short tour with his guide Alex to a close destination in a time frame he thought would be the best, all very short notice! Besides a lovely knowledgeable guide and a comfortable and safe car, we got just the flexible tour we needed as it was manageable for our kids! Best part of it, we did manage to see the northern lights and still can’t really believe it😊 I would highly recommend the Arctic Drive to everyone, but especially to families as both Kjetil and Alex did help to make the trip enjoyable for all of us!!

Northern lights private tour - amazing My wife and I had a private tour to see the northern lights. It was incredible. A big thank you to the Artic Drive Team who were able to organise our trip at very short notice. Our guide Alex did a stellar job at finding the best spot to view the lights. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about the region and all in all, great company. I would highly recommend the Artic Drive. Having a private tour allowed us flexibility to move around and get the best spot and the ‘drive’ - what a car! Thanks guys.

amasing our trip was amasing! beautyful and spectacolos! the personal on board was be frendly. all is good. warm drink on board. Jaccuzzi and equipement for jaccuzzi was to disposition for to see the northen light!!!! very unforget!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed both his company and his vehicles .. his skills with finding the lights are truly inspirational is camera skills put me to shame .. considering I am in the Movie business.. I combined a snowmobile trip in Finland which was one of the best I ever had across a frozen lake ..Truly awesome ... A big thank you Kjetil .

So impressed last year, we came back! I said last year that I wouldn't describe this as a once in a lifetime experience as I would certainly be back to do it again as we had such a great time, one year later and we've just been out for another trip with the Arctic Drive! This time Kjetil took us on a spectacular scenic tour to the Lyngen Alps, also including a visit to the new Aurora Spirit Distillery. If you want to do something different to what the mainstream operators are offering in Tromso then contact the Arctic Drive; as well as having the awesome trucks they will tailor a trip to what you would like to do. Totally awesome, two amazing trips with Kjetil The highlight of the holiday! I won't describe it as a 'once in a lifetime experience' as I sure intend doing it again. We took a 7hr northern lights trip with Kjetil on the Wednesday and followed this with a morning off-road trip on the Friday. On the northern lights trip we went to Sommaroy following a drive through the mountains on the mainland; Kjetil is very generous with driving time and I was soon behind the wheel and did most of the driving on the trip. The trucks are just brilliant, easy to drive and handle very well. As this was my first time driving on thick ice and snow I wasn't sure what to expect, but with the studded tyres the truck felt very secure on the road, and so long as you allow for the extra width and extra braking time, it was no problem at all and I was driving in the dark up and down icy hills with confidence. But it's not just the trucks that are superb, Kjetil is a very warm and pleasant guy, and I felt comfortable right from the start, he is a really nice host and a pleasure to spend time with. We had dinner at a restaurant in Sommaroy (much better than the usual soup and biscuits!), after which we parked up off road and watched the northern lights. On the way back to Tromso, Kjetil offered to take us to see the old original houses which have been moved from Tromso into the mountains where they have been refurbished. This involved snow-shoeing up a track through some woods on a metre of snow, this was an exciting extra experience that we weren't expecting, I absolutely loved it. On the Friday Kjetil picked us up and we drove to his home where he picked up a second truck and we drove off to another location for some off-roading. After letting the air out of the tyres for off-roading on snow, we drove along some tracks and up and down hill on deep snow, it was amazing what these trucks are capable of! A thoroughly enjoyable time over two days, we were really fortunate to be able to do this as we booked pretty much last minute just before leaving the UK after coming across his website by chance. If you are looking for something completely different, a more special experience than the mass tourist trips, then I would not hesitate to book. There are a variety of trips on the website, but Arctic Drive can also do custom trips, like our off road morning for example. Thanks Kjetil for an amazing time.
